What does this section cover?

TDS on consideration paid for transfer of immovable property worth ₹50 lakh or more.

Why this section: Buyer of immovable property ≥ ₹50L must deduct 1% TDS on consideration and deposit via Form 26QB within 30 days.

Note: Excludes agricultural land. TDS computed on higher of sale price or stamp duty value (clarified in Finance Act 2024). NRI sellers fall under Section 195.
