Why this section: Banks and other interest payers deduct 10% on aggregate interest exceeding the annual threshold per depositor.

Note: Thresholds raised from April 2025: general ₹40k→₹50k, senior citizens ₹50k→₹1L. Form 15G/15H accepted to avoid TDS if income below exemption. Non-bank payers: threshold is ₹10,000.
